Air Force Frecce Tricolori

The Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale (PAN), more commonly known as the “Frecce Tricolori”, is the most famous aerobatic team in the world and the only one composed of ten aircraft (9 in formation + 1 soloist). Their breathtaking performances amaze and inspire generations of spectators with a creative aerobatic program, where precision, mastery of execution, and timing keep Italian excellence soaring through the sky (a truly fitting way to put it) as they draw the tricolor flag with their smoke trails.

Locman, historically connected to the armed forces through its Italian heritage and long-standing collaborations with various military corps (most recently, with watches to commemorate Amerigo Vespucci’s round-the-world voyage), celebrates the 65th anniversary of the foundation of the aerobatic team with the Aviatore Frecce Tricolori collection. This series blends the strict technical standards of pilot watches with a design inspired by aviation models from the 1940s.

A Collection
Limited Edition

The dial of the Aviatore Frecce Tricolori, featuring elegant yet highly functional graphics, recalls the design of aircraft instruments from that era. The hours and minutes are displayed with clear Arabic numerals and large baton hands, ensuring easy readability in all conditions thanks to a Super-Luminova treatment.
Another distinctive detail is the arrow-shaped central second hand, embellished with the colors of the Italian flag. The sunray blue dial is enclosed by a rehaut with minute markings, where the number 65 is displayed at the five-minute mark to celebrate the 65th aerobatic season of the Frecce Tricolori. The Turreted Eagle, symbol of the Air Force pilots, is proudly displayed at 12 o’clock, while at 6 o’clock, the team’s logo featuring the Three Arrows represents precision and determination. The wide curved crystal, with the second markers and the “Locman Italy” inscription silkscreen printed onto it, is set on a conical satin-finished steel bezel. The polished 44 mm case, made of AISI stainless steel and water-resistant to 10 atmospheres, is designed with an ergonomic shape for optimal wearability.

The Case and Dial

Set on the titanium caseback is a mineral crystal, which is silkscreen printed with the full Frecce Tricolori logo, including the three arrows and outstretched bow. Through the crystal, the automatic SIO (Scuola Italiana di Orologeria – the Italian School of Watchmaking) caliber movement is visible, featuring a tungsten oscillating weight in blue that complements the shade of the dial.

The Aviatore Frecce Tricolori is also available with a steel case coated in blue PVD, which, thanks to an advanced machining process, ensures high resistance to scratches and abrasions. Both versions are limited to 650 pieces and come with a padded natural leather strap.
